Mallorca
Mallorca.
We were in Majorca in May 2007, the most amazing island, if you find the places with not so many tourists. We were two adults and a child of 2 years and the tickets cost a total of $ 1600 including airtickets and hotel, for 14 days and the bus to and from the airport. One of the reasons it is so cheap is that people think there is tourists all over the island, but it is certainly not the case. We stayed north of Alcudia, in a port town called Puerto de Pollensa. There is a very beautiful beach and it is an old and comfortable city with a lot of local people. North of the town is Cap de Formentor, Majorca’s northernmost point, there simply has a paradisebeach, like a beach in Thailand. Rent a car and head to the mountains, there are some quite amazing cities. In particular, Deia, which is an organic cafe and a health food store. This is where Michael Duglas and Catherine Zeta Jones has a cottage. It is a really nice trip to drive along the water on the mountain all the way to Palma, which is the “capital”. A small Barcelonacity.
It can really be recommended to take to Mallorca, if you want a little of everything; beach, mountains, beautiful scenery, sights, city and the extra money because it is a cheap trip. You just have to know where to go.
